Take a journey full of history, culture and natural wonders. From the ancient haciendas and thermal baths of Cajamarca to the mysterious vestiges of Kuelap in Chachapoyas. DAY 1
Cajamarca Airport / Colonial Route
- Pick up: We will meet you at the airport according to the schedule indicated by the passenger and take you to the Hotel.
- 4:00 pm Start: Colonial Route Tours begin
- Historical Center (pedestrian): We know Plaza de Armas, San Francisco temple, sanctuary of the Virgen de los Dolores, Cuarto del Rescate, Belen (Temple, colonial hospitals, museums: archaeological and ethnographic) and finally the viewpoint Santa Apolonia.
- Rescue Room: An important feature of Cajamarca is the “Cuarto de Rescate” or “rescue room”, a historically important site where the Inca ruler Atahualpa was held captive by the Spanish.
- Bethlehem Complex: We will also learn about the ancient Bethlehem complex, a church and former city hospital along with the museums. Other sites that will be visited are the Main Square of Cajamarca, the Cathedral and the San Francisco Church.
- The last stop will be the beautiful viewpoint called Santa Apolonia, here we will visit the famous “Trono del Inca” and enjoy the panoramic view of the valley of Cajamarca.
- 7:00 pm. Overnight at Hotel.
DAY 2
Cumbemayo – Collpa – Baños Del Inca
- 7:00 am: Breakfast at the Hotel.
- 9:30 am. Cumbemayo: Enjoy the impressive norandino landscape and the mysticism that cause the forests of volcanic rocks of the frailones, during the tour we will know: The viewpoint of bellavista, the pre-Inca temple Layzon, the sanctuary, the stone of sacrifice and other ceremonial altars in honor of water will be shown, besides touring the most important hydraulic work of Latin America “The channel of Cumbemayo”.
- 3:30 pm. Collpa and Baños del Inca: The tour begins with a visit to the Collpa where we will see its different facilities: artificial lagoon, hacienda house, chapel of the Virgen del Carmen and we will observe the classic cow call by its name.
- Finally we pass through Baños del Inca. Important spa of the northern highlands of Peru with sulfurous waters that exceed 70° of temperature.
- 6:00 pm: Return to Cajamarca.
DAY 3
Porcon Farm / Transfer To Chachapoyas
- 7:00 am Breakfast at the Hotel.
- 8:30 am Granja Porcón: On the way we will visit Huambocancha: A village characterized by the stone carvers of different handicrafts in granite and marble.
- Then we moved to Granja Porcón to visit the handicraft workshops (textiles) and the zoo (bears, lions, otorongos, pumas, ostriches, etc.).
- 1:00 pm. We return to Cajamarca. / Hotel check out
- Free afternoon.
- 6:00 pm: Transfer to Chachapoyas (7 to 8 hour trip).
DAY 4
Chachapoyas In / Fortress Of Kuelap
- 4:00 am: Pick up from the bus terminal and transfer to the hotel.
- 7:00 am: Breakfast at the Hotel.
- 8:30 am: We will depart from Chachapoyas to the town of Nuevo Tingo (01:00 am), where the station of the new Kuelap Telecabin System is located, which we will enjoy a ride above the clouds for 20 minutes to the ticket office located in “La Malca”, then walk for about 30 minutes by a stone path to reach the Citadel of Kuelap, located 3000 m.It is an archaeological complex of great significance for the Chachapoyas, built in the 6th century A.D. and discovered in 1843. Impressive stone walls up to 20 meters high, protecting more than 500 circular houses, many of them decorated with friezes in the form of zigzag and rhomboids, distributed in more than seven hectares of extension.
- Lunch: After the visit, we return to the village of Nuevo Tingo to enjoy a delicious lunch.
- 4:00 pm. We return to Chachapoyas.
DAY 5
Sarcophagi Of Karajia – Quiocta Caverns
- 7:00 am: Breakfast at the Hotel.
- 8:30 am: We will depart from Chachapoyas to the town of Lamud (1:00 a.m.) to visit the Quiocta caves in the upper part, where we will explore within 500 meters a diversity of stalactites and stalagmites and other rock formations that will impress you, which are formed by the action of dripping water on calcite stone.
- In the afternoon we will visit the village of Cruzpata (1 hour) where we will find the funerary statues of Karajía, located in inaccessible cliffs, placed the mummified bodies of the most important rulers of the Chachapoyas culture. The Sarcophagi of Karajía will blow your mind and make you imagine how the ancient inhabitants of this area lived and the customs they had.
- 4:30 pm. We return to Chachapoyas.
DAY 6
Revash Mausoleums and Leymebamba Museum
- 7:00 am: Breakfast at the Hotel.
- 8:00 am: We will depart from Chachapoyas to the town of San Bartolo (2:30 hours) from there we will begin the hike for approximately 40 minutes to the Revash funerary chullpas or also known as Revash Mausoleums.
- In the afternoon we travel to the village of Leymebamba (1:30 hours),
- Lunch.
- Leymebamba: Visit to the community museum of Leymebamba, where we can appreciate more than 219 Chachapoyas mummies that despite the centuries that have passed are in a good state of preservation, as well as looms, ceramics, weapons of war, musical instruments and an interesting collection of Inca quipus.
- 5:00 pm: Return to Chachapoyas.
DAY 7
Gocta Waterfall
- 7:00 am: Breakfast at the Hotel.
- 9:00 am: We will depart from Chachapoyas to the town of Cocachimba (01:00 hour), from there we will begin the hike for approximately 02 hours and 30 min. The Gocta waterfall is one of the greatest natural attractions of Amazonas, with its 771 meters high, visiting this place allows us to establish a direct connection with nature, enjoy the beautiful scenery that surrounds it; the routes are accompanied by magical trails, surrounded by trees and illuminated by the sun’s rays that intermingle with the leaves.
- Lunch: Upon returning to the village of Cocachimba we enjoy a delicious lunch.
- 4:30 pm: Return to Chachapoyas.
DAY 8
The Miradors Route / Transfer To Cajamarca
- 7:00 am: Breakfast at the Hotel.
- 9:00 am: This time we will travel to the town of Huancas, and visit the viewpoint of Huanca Urco, from which we can appreciate the varied and rugged geography that forms the relief of the Amazonian Andes and the Utcubamba River. Then we will visit the impressive canyon of Sonche with an extension between 11.45 km, with an average width between 1.46 to 2.70 km, and its depth reaches up to 962 meters.
- We finish with a visit to the Luya Urco viewpoint, located in the city of Chachapoyas. Transfer to the hotel.
- 1:00 pm: Return to Chachapoyas. / Check out Hotel.
- 7:30 pm: Transfer to Cajamarca, from the Chachapoyas bus terminal (7 to 8 hours trip).
DAY 9
Namora / Airport Transfer
- 6:00 am Pick up and transfer to the Hotel.
- 7:00 am Breakfast at the Hotel.
- 8:00 am We leave to the district of Namora, we will enjoy the beauty of the beautiful valley of Cajamarca, we will visit: the cave of Callacpuma with the presence of cave paintings (antiquity 5 thousand B.C.), area of natural formations called Los Sapitos, square and market of the district of Namora (workshops of guitars), lagoon of San Nicolas the biggest of the region.
- Optional boat ride at passengers’ expense (lunch not included).
- Bathing, relaxing, taking pictures.
- Afterwards, we will be able to shop for handicrafts.
- 1:00 pm. Return to the city of Cajamarca and check out of the hotel (please note).
- Transfer to the airport according to the schedule indicated by the passenger.

- It is recommended that people who are overweight or do not have the continuity to walk, make use of the horses for the Gocta waterfall excursion, as it requires to be in good physical condition.
- Older adults are recommended to take a day in the city of Chachapoyas to acclimatize, especially if they are not used to be in places above 3000 m.a.s.l. This recommendation is important for the visit to Kuelap.
